ALIF School Outreach program

ALIF has determined that everyone has what it takes to rise and shine. We offer dedicated outreach programs for secondary students which focus on raising aspirations and planning pathways to the future.  Underpinned by your support and funding, our activities aim to inspire students from JSS2 to SS3, particularly those who would be the first in their family to attend higher education. All programs have a particular focus on improving the access to higher education of students from low income, rural communities, through activities delivered in collaboration with their respective schools, Brainforte Foundation, Universities and sundry community organisations.

The programs aim to:

  • Improve reading ability and habits amongst students and teachers
  • Build aspirations and awareness of post school choices
  • Offer career planning and guidance
  • Demystify higher education
  • Raise parent awareness of further education opportunities
  • Provide professional development activities for teachers
  • Develop educational resources and learning materials

Due to funding challenges, outreach services are at the moment, limited to secondary schools and are generally offered by invitation only.

 Free Medical Services

Besides sponsoring several people for medical treatment both in Nigeria and abroad, ALIF has been addressing issues pertaining to good health and vitality through our medical outreaches where prevention of diet related diseases as well as its management are preached by professionals drawn from relevant fields of medicine. We conduct free medical screening on the indigent members of our communities. They are majorly screened for skin diseases, respiratory tract infections, eye disease, malaria endemic, HIV and tuberculosis, hypathaitis, Diabetes, among others. Free drugs are usually distributed to participants. And where we have serious cases, a follow up visits are made to ensure that the individual get proper medical attention at no cost to them.

Grassroots Football Development

Grassroots Football means bringing together children and giving them access to football in their own environment whatever their age, gender, physical condition, religion or ethnic origin. At ALIF, we have adopted this means to curb youth restiveness. We had our test run during the first anniversary of ALIF, where we engaged youths in our communities in a football training and competition amongst the Five local Government council Areas in Esan Land in Edo State. A cash price and other football kits and items were distributed. The success recorded in the maiden even has spurred us on widening the scope to cover other parts of Nigeria.

More than 15 participants are on queue under our recommendation for trials in European Foot Academies.
