Leemon Ikpea Foundation Remains Ever Devoted To Helping The Less Privileged

With the preponderance of irresolute platforms parading as Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) particularly those that are said to have been designed to cater for the needy, it is not unusual to dismiss any claim made by a private foundation about affecting the life of the needy in our society. Some people are even of the opinion that when you set out to help the poor, you should keep your camera at home.
Perhaps, this could form the reason why Chief Dr Leemon Agbojagwe Ikpea does not want so much noise about the exploit he is achieving with his foundation, AGBONJAGWE LEEMON IKPEA FOUNDATION (ALIF).
ALIF was inaugurated on November 17, 2012 by Chief Leemon Agbonjagwe Ikpea, the Adolor of Ewatto Kingdom and the Odolagbon of Warri Kingdom. He is the Executive Chairman, LEE Engineering and Construction Company Limited.
Although ALIF was founded in memory of his late parents, it was a way of giving back to the society having been accorded recompense for his hard work in life. Within this past 6 years of its existence, ALIF has funded small businesses for 72 widows and 22 other artisans.
708 scholarships have been awarded to hapless and helpless but brilliant students in secondary and Tertiary institutions in Nigeria. ALIF have provided primary health care services for people in the rural communities as well as footing an all inclusive flight, passage and hospital bills for over 15 persons to india, Israel, United Kingdom to mention but a few.
Several donations have been made to IDP camps since the rise of insurgency in Nigeria. ALIF have made donations of relief materials to several orphanage homes and payment of monthly stipend to over 140 elderly and weak persons. Also as part of its Human Capital Development project, ALIF have embarked on school outreach program that has benefited over 52 secondary schools with the “Adversity Advantage”; a message of practical encouragement to students in “less privileged schools”. During the 2018 edition of the school outreach, 84 indigent secondary school students were recruited and offered automatic scholarship up to First Degree level.
According to the Executive Director of ALIF, Visible Difference Irabor, the next segment of the school outreach program will commence in March 2019 with the #bringbackthebook project aimed at introducing self-regulatory learning culture among the students.
Chief Dr Leemon Ikpea has through ALIF, instituted one of the most grassroots football development platform that has earned him an award by Edo State Football Association. Apart from the local opportunities that ALIF football tournament provides, two aspiring footballers has been sponsored and are currently on “trials” in one of the European football academies.
Chief Dr Leemon Agbonjagwe Ikpea turns 62 years of age today and so many birthday messages are pouring in to extol this great man with heart of Gold. We the ALIF family all over Nigeria and in diaspora wish to use this occasion of the 62nd Birthday to say Thank you to Chief Lee as we petition God to take charge of everything that concerns Him. Long Life and prosperity in Health, wealth and Happiness.
