In line with the above thinking and on the occasion of the inauguration of ALIF in November, 2012, over 250 beneficiaries who are mainly of Edo state origin were empowered in three (3) main categories:
- Indigent students in various public schools (Secondary, Colleges of Education, Polytechnics and Universities) in Nigeria.
- Youths who have acquired some skills and needed seed capital to start their trade.
- Widows who are into small scale businesses and needed capital to start their trade.
- Old people including the sick and those who do not have children to take care of them.
This number keeps increasing with annual scholarship awards and grants to the less endowed especially widows and artisans on a ”case-by-case” basis. ALIF has produced over 100 graduates including 21 Medical Doctors, 10 Engineers, 6 Accountants and many other specialists
